Race: Noldor
Occupation: Lord of the Heavenly Arch, archer, swordsman and scholar (when allowed). Was trained as a stonemason by his father.


Lord of the House of the Heavenly Arch or Rainbow, Egalmoth was born in the year 1237 in Tirion, and in the year 1300 he married a Noldo painter named Elanna; and they had born unto them two sons and a daughter. Their eldest son and child Caranmoth, was born in the year 1312, their daughter Maril in the year 1347 and in 1403 their youngest son Sulmoth was born.

The House of the Heavenly Arch in Aman (under the leadership of Egalmoth's father) used to follow the House of Finarfin. But when Finarfin turned aside (Egalmoth's father and a quarter of the house also turned aside), Egalmoth became the Lord of the house of the Heavenly Arch, but rather than follow Finrod, Finarfin's son, Egalmoth instead placed the House under Fingolfin (whom he knew better, not much better but a little), who in turn placed the House under his son Turgon.

During the crossing of the Helcaraxe Sulmoth slipped through the ice, while Caranmoth the elder was killed during the fighting in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Due to the loss of both of their sons both he, and his wife Elanna, have become completely devoted to their last remaining child; their daughter, Maril.

Friend of Duilin, Egalmoth used to be cheerful and carefree, and although for the most part he still is, since the loss of Caranmoth he will on occasion wish for peace and solitude. Though, he does enjoy gatherings, and uses them to meet and 'greet' people. Egalmoth is an extremely inquisitive person by nature and as such will attempt to befriend any and all people he should meet. Unfortunately, he and Maeglin do not 'get along' all that well (some sort of disagreement when Maeglin first arrived), and many an arguement is there between them, although this has lessened greatly as of late. As for Tuor, Egalmoth is curious about the mortal and wishes to know him better yet is still a little too shy (much to his wife and daughters amusement) to actually 'go over' and befriend him like some of the other Lords of the city can.

Egalmoth alone wields a curved blade when in battle, yet he trusts rather to the bow; and is able to shoot further than any other person within his House.

In the year 502 Egalmoth's daughter Maril gave birth to a little boy. This little boy was called by his parents Antien (fathername) Amrun (mothername) and like most children he has his grandfather wrapped around his little finger already.

Lindo: Steward to the House, Lindo has held his position for more years than anyone can count. The Steward was also the one who after Caranmoths' death encouraged Agladir to marry Maril, even going so far as to warn the young couple when his Lord was approaching. Lindo also holds the valuable position of being trusted as secretkeeper for the House; it is rare that he does not know when something is a foot. After the Nirnaeth and the death of Egalmoths' eldest son it has been Lindo who voluntarily began to take on further work and thus making certain that the House remained stable and running whilst its' Lord and Lady mourned.

Carlin: A thirty five year old page good friends with Nerin who works in the kitchens. He also won a bet amongst the people of the Rainbow over when Agladir would finally get around to confronting Egalmoth. Quick and nimble Carlin exceeds at his duties but finds them far too boring.

Ninniach: Egalmoths' first esquire, when they came to Middle-earth. He was born in Tirion ten years before the darkening to Sadron and Lasbelin. His younger sister Ivren, is married to Culuriel of the Golden Flower. Ranked now amongst the Captains of the Heavenly Arch. Bold and childish, proud and stubborn Ninniach has been lame since the Nirnaeth; however as he says to any who cares to comment or throw him a pitying glance: "An archer doesn't need legs. He needs back muscles and keen sight, no more, no less."

Ivren: Younger sister to Ninniach. Ivren was one of the first of the exiles to be born in Endorre. Although through birth she was a member of the House of the Heavenly Arch, since she married into the House of the Golden Flower she has since become a member of that House. Once apprenticed as a jewelwright, Ivren has since become more of a scribe, dabbling in the art of song when she finds herself inspired. After joining the Golden Flower Ivren has since taken to dying her hair, although a natural brunette her hair seems to have lived up to its' Rainbow ancestry having been coloured with every dye she could think of, from black to blue or from red to blonde. Ivren has experimented with a wide variety of shades.
